Fes is one of the oldest cities in Africa with more than 12 century old, what makes very rich concerning traditional and original cultures. When we talk about Fes the touristic city we mean Fes " el medina" and not the modern Fes or the new Fes; in the history Fes was known as with its intellectuals and it's still considered the scientific city of morocco, Mainly University and mosque el Quarawiyin, Fes el medina is still surrounded by the great wall that were built before for security reasons, the city had three main Gates or doors that they're still untill these days, Fesi people used to live in Riyads a Moroccan traditional house, its a house like a small castle with en emptiness in the inside usually there are plants or threes and at the same time for keeping the house sunny. Most of those Riyads have become now hotels; restaurants, and touristic stuff, there is also the north and the south castles, a historical castles for military control one now is a weapon museum, Besides to the old medina there is also new places to visit like the new Borj Fes which is a modern mall in Fes.
